Digital or analog
Hi,
So whats the story with Franklin twp.. is it analog or digital. I currently bought a pro-97 and am able to pick up the contol chanel, pluged in the 400mhz freqs ,, but dont hear any activity. The contol chanel picks up the right id... so do i have to upgrade to a digital decoding scanner? and when you say encrypted,, is it not the standard digital coding..?

Franklin Twp. Trunk system does have a lot of activity - the bad part is that most of their comms thus far is encrypted. All Police Comms are Digital Encrypted (meaning they use an DES [size=-1] algorithm which prevents unauthorized reception). [/size]Some building dept employees and OEM have been heard on the system in Analog. No word on when EMS & FD will migrate over to the new system.
I talked to a Frankin PD officer recently about the system set-up. He told me that it is the same type of system and set-up as Edison's TRS and that he had no other news for me. I was not able to get the names of the TG's, nor anything else at the time.
