Police and fire are Analog on the Alliant Trunk Mobile Radio System (Aliant Trunked Mobile Radio System (TMRS) Trunking System, Province-Wide, Multi-State - Scanner Frequencies). I recommend you the Uniden BC246T or the 346T (apparently Uniden's new model of the 246T).
