Sumter County FL P25 system

Hello all!
Trying to help a fellow FF who retired to the Villages in Sumter county. He wants to monitor the Fire Department in his area. You can take the boy out of the Fire Department, but cant take the Fire Department out of the boy!!
From reading on the site, it's a P25 system. Are the Fire talkgroups encrypted or open? What about Police??
He has a P25 capable scanner, and again, just wants to MONTIOR and NOT transmit in any way.

Any help greatly appreciated.

The last time I passed through Sumter County All Talkgroups were ENC except for the Hospital channels

The trio of Lake/Marion/Sumter Counties is probably the worst when it comes to scanning in the state.

In my personal opinion Polk, Pinellas, & Hillsborough Counties have the least number of ENC channels

Florida's Turnpike has a UHF system for maintenance personnel. 453.575, 453.625, 453.675, and 453.725. However, there isn't much traffic on it. The Road Rangers are on the state SLERS system, which is encrypted.

Coleman is in the clear and in the RR dB.

when programming coleman, make sure you are in ID search mode - I don't think the list of TGs are up to date for this system.

Last week I picked up that system at home. When I travel through that area seems there's alot of new TG not sure which department it belongs to.
