Yep. 20 groups per system (but remember, that you only have 10 quick keys (0 through 9) to use.

The 100+ groups are statewide for AWIN. There's not a location where you would hear talkgroups from all of the listed groups at one time. Generally, a given talkgroup will only be carried (transmitted) by the tower sites around the home jurisdiction. The only time a Faulkner County unit would be heard in, say Little Rock, or perhaps Texarkana, would be if the Faulkner County unit was in that area, normally on official business (such as picking up or dropping off a prisoner). If that was the case, and the Faulkner unit's radio affiliated with a site out of their normal area, then that talkgroup would be carried in the area traveled to, as well as on the site(s) back in their home jurisdiction.

Also, besides the 100+ groups (departments), you would also be adding all the listed sites in AWIN. Your better option is to only include the groups, and sites, in your area of interest, and perhaps the counties bordering on your location. If there was another portion of the state where you frequently travel to or through, then include those groups, along with it's associated sites, in an additional system. When you are out of range of that area, turn those sites and groups off via quick keys. Using a GPS when traveling to or through those outlying areas would tuggle the sites and groups in range on or off as you traveled.

As phask noted, you would not have that specific limitation with one of the database scanners (x36HP series, SDS100, or Home Patrol -1 & =2. For any of these, a GPS would also control what was being scanned. Scanning only the sites and groups in range would be much faster than trying to scan the entire state.

Also a 500 per system data limit - TG's unit ID's sites. On a large system it's too easy to exceed the limits of non-DMA scanners.

I have over 500 unit ID and in a small county.
