Hell-o to the wonderful state of Wyoming. What if any statewide fire control channels and agencies do you have. I can not believe you guys rely on the local fire departments. Here in Vegas we use the county, state, and blm is involved. That makes for more than 50 channels. Any help greatly appreciated. the main area is near Worland and the surrounding cities. Worland as far as I know is a voluntary fire department. Oh by the way thanks for the previous info about the WHP. It's only 32 days and it's on the road again for a great 2 weeks in Wy. Man I am counting the days we are in the high 90's already

wyoming is big time behind

things are very messed up in wyoming
the fire departments do not talk to each other
in some places the local fire chief will not ask the blm for help on a fire
And most of the state is blm land and many countys will not help the BLM on a fire

i have even got conversations on the radio where they have said
that is a blm fire that is their problem
they are big time behind in understanding
how Mutual aid works. so you will not see
alot of Mutual aid channels because there is not
much Mutual aid , so

That's tough. In California for instance, EVERYONE jumps on range fires-same where I live in Arizona. There is just too much dead and dry brush, trees, grass etc for there not to be aid. Need to quench the event before they get out of hand. Too much at stake not to.

Guess with the lack of population here in tis state, local authorities don't feel the need to go out and get their equipment dirty. Wonder what the ranchers think of that? Not good for stock to have thier range literaly go up in smoke.

Why are you folks, giving one of the best states of the Union, Wyoming, so much grief? There is less then a hundred thousand folks that live here, in the state, unlike many other locations, such as California. Please, do not give us sh*t, about how our radio systems operate… We will not tell you how to type…

MikeH, when it comes to a lack of interoperbility, Wyoming does not hold a corner on that market. Many states suffer this especially now when one has agencies on trunked systems AND conventional systems. However, some states are solving this by having all the agencies subscribe to a statewide system. Colorado is a really good example of this with thier statewide P25 TRS. I belive Ohio is heading that way as well as Indianna. In my home state of Arizona, we are going to a multi-band conventional system called AIRS which is long over due, in my humble opinion.

Mike A-I didn't bother to program in your statewide P25 system due to the lack of subscribers. If you have more confirmed talkgroup IDs then the what is listed here in the RR database, why not get them posted. My comment was an observation, not a critisem on Wyoming.
