Unless you are very close to the transmitter a frequency counter would not be sensitive enough to tell you the frequency.

Wrong - I use an optoelectronics Scout all the time and it works fantastic with a dual band
ducky antenna. I do not have to be that close - many times I catch hits and the transmitter
is beyond my sight and you have to use a lousy antenna in order to keep the counter hits
within eye sight so you can identify what your hits are!

OK i was lokking information about your optoelectronics Scout, and it seems very good, what do you think about this frequency counter

-Ramsey CT-2000
-MFJ-888
-IBQ 2006
-GY561

wich one do you think its better? also do you think that if i change the dualband antenna that they has for an aftermarket antenna like Nagoya NA-771, can i get better frequency catching?

I can't comment on those models since I have never used one of them.

The optoelectronics Scout has memories and hit counters per memory
and I do not think those other models have those features.
this aids in the usage of figuring out frequencies.
