I’m new to all this scanning business got a sdr dongle with sdr sharp and want to use freq scanner what are the frequency range for military and civil plus it asking for bandwidth and step size for mil and civil

Military: 225.0 to 399.95 MHz
Civil: 118.000 to 136.975 MHz with 25 or 8.33khz spacing

For the most part, yes though it's common in Europe to further divide them to 8.33khz

To narrow it down some 380 and above, while in the milair range is now used by many military facilities asvoice comms, in particular P25 systems.
