I know the existing system is currently in use because I was in Warren Co on Saturday.

Interesting that some of the freqs are used by VSP STARS particularly 151.0325 which I'm hearing currently in use by the Indepdent Hill site, though it's not currently in the database.

I drove through Warren County 2 weeks ago and didn't hear a peep out of Warren Sheriff or Front Royal PD. Have they gone encrypted?

Yes, both Front Royal PD (FRPD) and the Warren County Sheriffs Office (WCSO) have gone encrypted.

Previously they had been on an analog LTR TRS.

Someone from the WCSO had mentioned in a news story several months ago they were going to get a new radio system.

The switch happened during the first week of August. After they disappeared from the TRS, I programmed the repeated freqs from the licence posted above into my BC 996 (which partially mutes the encryption noise).

Sure enough, I heard bursts of traffic at 151.1825, which I assume is the FRPD dispatch channel now. I have not heard any traffic on the 3 other repeated freqs assigned. All are stand alone P25 and can do Phrase 1 or 2, or analog according to the FCC emissions.

Since I could not find a new licence for the WCSO, I looked at the FD licence and found a few new freqs added there. After I programmed those, I found 155.8725 had frequent encrypted traffic. A few nights ago I heard a burst of traffic on that freq. A few minutes later I heard a VSP trooper (on STARS) saying the WCSO asked for assistance with a pursuit of I-66. Shortly there after the FD was called with a minor wreck on an off ramp from the pursuit.

Another freq, 156.21, was also added the FD licence. Both are stand alone P25 Phrase 1. I have not heard any traffic on 156.21.

I have not heard any traffic on the 800 WCSO repeater since the move.

And now that the FRPD & the WCSO has abandon the LTR TRS, I have only heard the taxi companies there.

The Warren Co FD continues to operate in the clear on the previously listed freqs.

My trips through there I noticed the silence & figured something had changed. Thanks for the confirmation.

Is fire now using P25 on their frequencies or are they still using analog?

Fire department still using the analog frequencies they started using about 15 years ago. That includes the 2 repeated ones, 155.6175 & 155.7375.

I noticed on the FCC licence for the FD only the 2 new frequencies had the P25 emission designated.

I found the NAC for 155.8725 yesterday ($365). It's been added to the database. Could someone confirm the active Front Royal frequencies (with NACs) and submit to database? Thanks.

As an FYI 151.1825 that I have copied from my location is used by site 1.49 of the PA-Starnet P25 system, I see it is listed as also used by site 1.6 of the STARS system BUT I am also receiving TG 1 ENC traffic with a NAC of 350 which doesn't match the NAC's of either the PA site or the STARS site.

151.1825 has been added to the database.

On another Front Royal-related topic, could you get DMR parameters (color code, slot, group) for the public works frequencies if you're in range?

Thanks,
Dave

Thanks for the info. I'm looking for anything on VHF P25 ar the park, whether it's a repeater or simplex. I know it's a newer and smaller park but figured they may have something.
