Has Ft. Lewis gone digital?? I was in lakewood and I could barely get the control channel. The CC also sounded different. Could someone PM me or email me at eclipsecivic2002@yahoo.com with frequency list to see if its different from mine.

Thanks -Louie- any response will be great

As of the week before Christmas, I believe they have now started using a part of the 380 MHz DoD trunked system. When I went by there, the 400 MHz system was still on the air, but had little or no traffic.

Here is what I found:
System 14c
Site 001
380.0750
380.1750
380.2750
380.3875
380.4250
380.5375
380.5750
380.8750
380.9875
381.0875
381.1750
381.2375
381.3125
381.4250
381.6250
381.8250
381.8500

All traffic is P-25 digital but I did not catch much encryption on this site. I also heard Ft. Lewis on another site that seems to cover the south side of the base and surrounding areas:
System 14c
Site 002
380.2152
380.5500
380.8375
381.0125
381.2875

Do you know how this tower fits in:
0385.31250
0385.90000
0386.01250

I have been hearing some action on that as well, but with a different id configuration that is produced by the sites above

Still trying to figure that one out. Even though they share the same System ID (14c), they appear to be operated as seperate systems. The Ft Lewis system is using different talk groups and seems like less encryption than the Navy sites on this system. Also the Navy sites are using higher frequencies, above 385 MHz at their sites, while the sites I've found that might be the Armys all use frequencies below 385 MHz.

I'm not sure how much interaction the different services will have on this system...

Thanks. I pick it up in Tacoma (so I didn't think it would be navy), with the only non-encrypion being a check in.

I have found the fort lewis communication to come in somewhat choppy. Did you experience that at all? I haven't played around with it for about a week, so I'll have to try to get closer.

I can confirm that as of 03/10/07, the Fort Lewis 400 Mhz trunked system is no longer on the air.
