To anyone looking to acquire commercial radio programming software:
Please do not make requests for copies of radio programming software which is sold (or was sold) by the manufacturer for any monetary value. All requests will be deleted and a forum infraction issued. Making a request such as this is attempting to engage in software piracy and this forum cannot be involved or associated with this activity. The same goes for any private transaction via Private Message. Even if you attempt to engage in this activity in PM's we will still enforce the forum rules. Your PM's are not private and the administration has the right to read them if there's a hint to criminal activity.
If you are having trouble legally obtaining software please state so. We do not want any hurt feelings when your vague post is mistaken for a free request. It is YOUR responsibility to properly word your request.
To obtain Motorola software see the Sticky in the Motorola forum.
The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.
For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

Hello
I have just received my pager and the card with the link to the Phase 2 PPS download was in the box. I downloaded the Phase 2 PPS link now I am just wandering if I need to download the previous version of PPS from the unication website by emailing P25Firmware@unication.com.
If someone could help me with the process of downloading PPS let me know,

To install the program you need to go to the folder you downloaded to your pc and go into the PPS folder and than youll see (Unication pager PPS setup) click that and you should be able to install it.

Whenever I try to open the folder (Unication Pager PPS setup) the folder doesn't respond and i have to close it.

Is this folder supposed to be an update to the old version of PPS or is it a whole new Program?

It's all the same program just one is for phase ll and the other is not
You can go to the Unication USA web page; on the software downloads page, there is a section for the G4/G5 pagers with a button for programming resources. Send an email to the specified address and they will send you a link to download the latest software.

I can't say regarding Windows 10; I've purposely kept everything at Windows 7 since a number of radios I deal with get pretty finicky with Win10 (I'm also not a big fan of Windows 10 calling home to the mothership about everything I do).

Yes please. I have not got my pager back yet. Hoping to work on my stuff before I get it.
You can work on your stuff now in the previous version of PPS and then just import your profile into the new version when you get the link with your updated radio. No need to wait.
I use windows 10 on my surface pro 2 tablet computer. Software will read/write fine. Only issues is some occasional bizarre graphics / font issues. Almost like it randomly changes resolution.
