• To anyone looking to acquire commercial radio programming software:

Please do not make requests for copies of radio programming software which is sold (or was sold) by the manufacturer for any monetary value. All requests will be deleted and a forum infraction issued. Making a request such as this is attempting to engage in software piracy and this forum cannot be involved or associated with this activity. The same goes for any private transaction via Private Message. Even if you attempt to engage in this activity in PM's we will still enforce the forum rules. Your PM's are not private and the administration has the right to read them if there's a hint to criminal activity.

If you are having trouble legally obtaining software please state so. We do not want any hurt feelings when your vague post is mistaken for a free request. It is YOUR responsibility to properly word your request.

To obtain Motorola software see the Sticky in the Motorola forum.

The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

I've been having an issue with G4 toning out on Gastonia Fire Dispatch on Charlotte UASI (Gastonia Simulcast)
All tones and timings have been verified as correct (Tone A: 2000ms, Tone B: 3000ms)
I'm receiving traffic with no issues, it's just the tones. The pager has been updated to firmware 1.35 with the issues still persisting.
I've also noticed the Digital Tone Detect is not functioning on this talkgroup, whereas it functions on other sites and systems.
All 8 stations have been programmed to alert for this testing and none of them have alerted.
We do have an automated dispatcher, but these issues are present when a live telecommunicator is operating the tones.
Different protocols have been tested including the default settings with no avail.
This is not a simulcast issue as the issues are not present on the Mecklenburg Simulcast nor NC VIPER's Gaston Simulcast.

I tried being as descriptive as possible with everything that's been tested to attempt to solve this issue. Hopefully this information helps!

Update: I have now missed multiple calls for a station on NC VIPER on standby mode. Other stations that are added on monitor mode still alert

If anyone is still able to assist. I'm still having this issue on v0.4.0.39

There are no alerts to standby mode, it sometimes misses calls in monitor mode. And UASI is still not alerting at all.

Okay this is starting to annoy me.
It's alerting on other stations on VIPER, but the station it needs to alert on isn't working. The tone range is correct.

Right away I'm seeing an issue with duration. Current settings would not even allow it to try to alert.

Try shortening the duration time to something a bit more reasonable. Give these settings a try:
