GA DNR

[N8IAA]

OK, everyone. Got an unusual hit on a DNR frequency, 159.93 (Skidaway Is, Berrien, Burke, Chatham, Jefferson, and Murray) with a DPL of 306. In the RR database, all have a PL, or CSQ. Sounds like maintenance. Any one have a clue as to what I'm hearing?

Repeater, and it was DNR cutting grass somewhere. Lots of idle chatter and how they were going to do the work.

Of all the years I've had DNR programmed in scan, I have yet to hear a peep.

I've had a ranger at my home and his radio was not coming in very clearly but at least it was something and I'm sure I could hear it on a base antenna.It might have actually been something else like SO.

What freqs have activity aside from this one?

If I am not mistaking, many of them are digital. Pine Mountain, Lagrange and Allatoona are. Double check your audio type.

I hear 159.600 up here by Lanier, 159.945 at Allatoona, That's with inside the house antennas. Usually on the weekends when there a boaters on the lakes, or weather is moving through.

Then I got a bonus with the 15X Allatoona is monitored with PL on the frequency 159.945/ctcss of 88.5.

Thanks I'll check those. I've been scanning in CSQ so if there was digital txmissions, I'd know about them.

159.93/DCS 306 active again earlier today with a lot of chatter. This has been an active frequency using an 800MHz antenna on a HP-1. Go figure

It is loud hear in N Gwinnett, being that I'm receiving it on a dedicated 800MHz antenna. Couldn't tell you if it is possible.
