When i worked EMS, I had no remorse for drunk drivers. We would on occasion have the honor of drawing blood for PD and I would always make sure I used the 12 gauge needle! And sometimes I made sure I didn't find the vein on the first, second, third or more stick!
And you are proud of doing this?![]()
I like the join agency roadblocks. I am a full supporter of roadblocks. I think any and all agencies need to do them whenever possible.
Does anyone ever go to them after having out the location?
Guess you never worked a fatal accident where the drunk walked away from it. Never had to tell the family member that their child/wife/husband was killed by a drunk driver. Never been involved in an accident caused by a drunk driver.
100% proud of what I've done.
Why do you ask? Did I ever draw blood on you?
Nope, not me. I just find it weird that you'd intentionally inflict pain on someone. Vigilante justice I suppose...

You've never been in an accident with a drunk then. My wife and I were hit head on by an idiot celebrating his divorce, leaving the bar he was at, going over the double yellow to my side of the road. Saw him coming. We were stopped at a red light with now where to avoid the inevitable. His head was hanging down, the lights from my car woke him up. Saw him mouth "Oh S**t". Then his car drove under mine. Made sure my wife was not injured, and got out of the car. Walked over to him and asked if he knew what happened. He couldn't even answer. Reached in the car and shut of the engine. Witnesses said go ahead and bash him up good. Had he hurt my wife, that might have happened. More likely, not. His parents remortgaged their home to keep him from going to jail. Went to the trial, the judge chewed his butt out for his lack of remorse and the fact he was "DEAD" drunk. He blew a .42 at the hospital. He came away with a fractured arm. Very lucky, my bumper stopped six inches from his head. Twenty-six years, and I still remember that night like it was yesterday. Had Mike been one of the first responders, and did what he did, I'd of bought him a cokeDon't pass judgement if you never have had the experience.

That's no excuse for intentionally using a ridiculously large needle and intentionally missing the vein several times. Last I heard ambulance guys weren't judges, jurors, or executioners.
I'm out of this thread.
