SDS100/SDS200: Getting Ready for Big Battery

What a kick in the pants, got my SDS the first few days after release, did DMR update the first day and I stayed out of the bashing of the battery. Now I see people getting emails and shipping notice but I haven't seen a thing, how did Paul the Upman decide who gets there battery first? Definetly not first come first serve, maybe I should have been more vocal. Yes I did check all the boxes and dotted all the i's, so it's 5 months of thanks but not your turn yet.

I became inpatient waiting for the battery because the small one only last 2.5 hrs in mine . So I became vocal . I still stand by the fact it took way to long for the first adopters in getting the larger battery . I don’t apologize for being vocal about it either . Got my email confirmation two days ago . So I don’t think “ Paul” is hand picking recipients that were not being vocal about uniden .

With all the testing we've done the average runtime for a fully charged 3600 mAh battery has been just shy of 5 hours. With your's only lasting 2.5H I'd be apt to say you may have a defective battery and or unit.

My suggestion would be once you receive the 5400 mAh battery, fully charged it should last an average of 7h 45m. If this is not the case for you I'd call Uniden support and start an RMA to get the unit/battery replaced/repaired.

Yes as some others suggested as well . With uniden taking to long with the larger battery I never addressed sending the old battery in or requesting a new one for that matter . I just leave it plugged in during use while waiting for the larger battery for more mobility . Crossing my f8ngers the bigger battery is of spec . More than likely my last uniden anything ...

Anyone in Canada, Ontario received their new "FAT BOY" battery and cover for the SDS100?
I have not even seen the "Verification Email" that has been suggestively bounced around the forum and I too check my spam/junk folder on a regular basis.

Today's email:

"Your order number BAT308599 has shipped" from Uniden. Since I didn't order anything, I'm assuming it's the bigger battery.

I think Fed Ex's web site is a little off. I just checked the status and as of 7:49 AM today, package arrived at Fed Ex location in Chicago however the scheduled delivery date isn't until 11-26-18 (changed from 11-23-18 as of initial shipment). It will arrive sooner than later I suspect.

I saw on their website yesterday that they were expecting delays due to a national situation (something about weather at one of their major distribution points) I suspect they added time onto all deliveries because of that as a matter of policy, though I cannot confirm

I was thinking the same thing so people aren't flooding their customer service lines with calls. I'm not worried, it'll arrive eventually.

Really disappointed with what is happening. I took the suggestion of the support op and called to verify my confirmed info since the uniden site has been down for 18 hrs and counting. Told there may be a problem because from what he could see my address info was all there but no state listed. It was there when I verified it many months ago (I believe it was in August thereabouts) and he told me that is probably why I haven’t received an email of battery mailing since I was in the early buyer category (week,of release). He told me to check myuniden again and see if it will let me reverify. However, he said the site was down and would be down for probably 24 hours with no confirmed return time. Whaaaaaaaaaat? What are they doing, rebuilding the network? Wish I had saved a screen shot of the verification. Glad I called or I may never have gotten in the que. What are they gonna tell me next, well we fixed the address issue, but now we are out of shipment so you will be in the next go around! Not happy at all. And btw, this is not being a cry baby, it’s a customer expecting reasonable service not frustration. All,I ask is promise made, promise kept.



My information is correct and I haven’t received the email

Fad? You're kidding. The hoola hoop was a fad. My SDS100 has an excellent display and is a quality receiver. As for the user interface? Well, when you consider the number of features and adjustments, they did just fine.

What I can't understand is the number of cry babies complaining about not receiving the replacement battery. Guys, it's not a kidney. As someone said earlier, Uniden realized their mistake and volunteered to fix it at no charge. They could have offered the bigger battery as an option. Put on your big girl panties and deal with it.

I have not received any notification as of now, however being in Canada I would think it would take a bit longer.

Three of us in Western Canada haven't heard yet. Got the scam email yesterday impersonating UPS regarding a parcel. Had me excited for a while until I checked into it.
