I have a Grecom PSR 500. I have the frequencies for Gilpin County Colorado, (Black Hawk, Central City) programed directly from the RadioReference data base. When my scanner stops on one of the preprogrammed frequencies I no longer hear any audio. I have done my best to figure out why but need your assistance or recommendation to rectify the problem. All other Colorado related frequencies, state patrol, etc. still work as expected.

If you are scanning the 15x.xxx frequencies they stopped using them in recent years and moved to DTRS.

If you are not hearing them on DTRS which site(s) are you using.

154.0925 100.0 WQSY506 Gilpin County PW

154.8600 123.0 WPXQ361 Gilpin CO Sheriff’s “GC law” "Blue"

For all intents and purposes the VHF channels have been depricated. All L.E. is on DTRS along with Fire agencies. 154.025 was used for EMS when the county was full on VHF. Fire paging tones with no voice are showing up on 155.025. 154.860 has been quiet with an occasional morse I.D. from monitoring VHF at my location.

O.P. needs to look up the talkgroups for Gilpin County under DTRS. The Mesta (Former Squaw Mountain), Thorodin Mountain DTRS sites carry Gilpin county sites on a regular basis. If the O.P. is in Gilpin county they should look up sites within the county in the database.
