I just got my account set up on GT, but I was really happy using the Perseus software to connect to their receivers. I spent an hour last night listening to HF from southern Italy -- which is right across the med to Libya.
I was able to hear a lot of Russian stations - volmet, meteo, etc. I heard quite a few LSB voice stations -- on the marine frequencies -- in various languages: french, russian and spanish.
I didn't spend a lot of time on AM broadcast but it was rather funny to hear the usual US bible thumpers blasting over there as well. I felt warm all over.
I was trying to listen for MWARA and other air-related frequencies but didn't really catch a whole of traffic. I caught a couple MWARA hits from (I think) the UK -- as the dispatcher was speaking UK English. Didn't hear any Arabic stations or anything relating to Libya though -- like I would even know if i did.
I loved using the Perseus software though. It was very easy and I loved the waterfall spectrum. Really cool to see HFDL signals, RTTY and FSK signals.
Found some HAM operator transmitting FM in Italian. He did this for several minutes before switching to LSB (on 40m.)
(This was all around 6am local time.)
Quite fun.
