We are hearing a very strong repeater here in East Brunswick that we never heard before and its interfering with our system that is on 462.600. Seem to be doing alot of testing. Unit numbers are used rather than callsigns (502/535/5xx, etc). No regard to other users on the frequency. They just key up loud and proud. Any ideas what group this may be?

Is your output 462.600 using DPL 445?

No. It's Pl 100. The group you mention is in Hunterdon. We rarely hear them out here. Why do you ask?

Trying to understand what I am hearing. I have not heard or seen 100.0.

I am closer to Hunterdon, but also hear Middlesex County well.

Perhaps no activity when I looked. I also saw a 151.4 box and an adjacent channel 12.5 khz channel hosting a repeater!

I'm in East Brunswick (Lawrence Brook) and sat on this freq. for a few minutes yesterday after seeing this post... Was barely receiving some transmissions with DPL 445. Just turned it back on and am hearing a conversation much more clearly again DPL 445. Also just heard a single quick transmission with PL 151.4

Like rr60, have not heard or seen PL 100.0 but again have just been listening a few minutes.

Thanks rr60. Out of curiosity, what freq is the adjacent repeater on? See if I can listen in from here on this rainy day.

I think it may have been above, it was not very strong.

If the repeater supposedly causing interference is owned and operated by someone with a valid GMRS license then it's not an interference issue. The channels are all shared and they have just as much right to use the pair as anyone else. It sounds like a discussion between repeater owners needs to happen. I get it, you may have occupied the frequency in the area first or it appeared not in use and now another repeater is causing you problems, been there done that. That's life on GMRS.
