Figured I would post this random thread in the computers section for those of us that are into computer networking.

After much procrastination (we're talking years worth) I am finally knuckling down and getting ready for my Cisco certifications. Instead of paying a ton of money for a boot camp or college courses, I'm going to attempt to do this on my own at my own pace. I'll be studying for ICND 1 first, in order to get my CCENT. Then I'll go straight into ICND 2 to earn the CCNA. If I don't die from stress and insanity after all of that, I'll start with the CCNP. This will probably take months, if not a year or two, for me to complete.

To get the ball rolling, I have purchased the following items:
Current CCNA study manuals
Home lab which includes an 1841 and (2) 2610XM routers, and (2) 2950 switches. Also picked up a cheap rack and mounting supplies.
Training Videos from CBT Nuggets.

This might be outside of the scope of the "Computer" tavern here, but I figured this would be a good place for those of us on Radio Reference to share thoughts and experience related to the Cisco courses. If you're currently working on the certifications, already have them, or considering getting them.
