going to clearwater fl

hey guys i am going to the clearwater area on jan 12-21. is there a lot of good communications down in that area. i have to been to broward county before and i know that they have some good P.S systems to listen to down in that area. i would appreciate any assistance with information about public safety trunked and conventional frequencies.

Almost all the public safety stuff in Clearwater and Pinellas is trunked, analog. Just look at the Pinellas County & Clearwater trunking systems in the database and you'll be all set.

Tampa PD & FD are conventional.

No need to use private messages. I prefer to talk out in the open.

The Pinellas county system is analog 800, although there's maybe just a couple digital talk groups that are P25 with the slower control channel buad rate. Any trunking scanner will work.

Again, check the database. Everything you need is there.
