I have an SDS100 and was wondering if Gold Cross EMS frequency 453.175000 in the Appleton area is working for anyone else. Since adding to my favorites list I haven't heard transmissions from it.

not from the area but it appears the frequency you mention is DMR. do you have the paid upgrade for your scanner?

I can you tell if that frequency needs DMR? If it is for sure I'm will to get the upgrade but hate to waste the money if its not.

Isn't Gold Cross Ambulance, Mayo Clinic Ambulance who uses WISCOM?

Gold Cross Ambulance Service Inc of Menasha dispatches on UHF DMR.
Two different companies.

Also, be aware that if you are in the western part of their service area (Waupaca County) that they have a west simulcast site in Fremont that is on 453.7875.
