I used a BC-SGPS GPS kit for my bcd436 and it worked fine. Now I have a sds100 and I need a different serial cable. Well , I lost the extra cables thant were in the box. Now I need a rs232-mini usb cable I ordered on AMZ and it didn't work, $9. Does the correct one have a chip in it? Hate to by another kit. I used all baud rates and it didn't work. In fact I installed the 436 and the gps icon still I know the kit is still working.

I think you might need this specific cable?

That cable is for programming the older T and XT scanners that have the Hirose data connector on the front of the scanner, and connected to an older computer with an actual serial port. It may possibly work for a GPS connection for the Home Patrol scanners that used that connector for the GPS input. The SDS100 uses a USB mini connector for the GPS input.

This looks like the cable the OP needs, but I have no idea if this would work for his application.

That cable will not work for the SDS100 but it will work for the 436HP and the 396XT. The cable I listed provides both power and will connect to the GPS module listed. It's what I use. Works great.

The cable that you linked to in your post #2 will not work for the OP. The OP has the BC-SGPS GPS kit which does not use that cable.

Cable GPS USB Cable for BCD325P2 and SDS100

Gps. GlobalSat BR-355N GPS Receiver (Black) https://a.co/d/eEJGWTN

The info above is incorrect.
The correct GPS puck is the BR-355S4
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00AMAJFUO/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1

And yes, the BC-UTGC:
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07JQFHLBL/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1

The rectangle GPS is crap (same one used by the SDS-200).
Weak sensitivity - the BR-355S4 is much more sensitive (quicker to get a lock).
Do yourself a favor and get the above.

The OP stated that he already has the BC-SGPS GPS kit that he needs a cable for, that was part of the original kit contents that was lost.

This video shows the cable he is looking for being connected to the GPS port on the SDS100 and the convertor box that's part of the BC-SGPS GPS kit that he already has. USB mini to 9 pin RS232.
