Graham police: AWOL from VIPER?

I live in Alamance County, and I monitor the Graham police dispatch talkgroup on VIPER using the Cane Mountain site. Lately I've been thinking that it's been pretty quiet, so just before lunch I parked my Uniden 325P2 on their talkgroup and waited for some activity. 5 hours later I'm still waiting. I still get lots of other VIPER activity on my 996XT and SDR/DSD+, but nothing from Graham.

Does anyone know what's up?

They went onto the Guilford P25 system, Pd disp is Tg2407, PdTac is Tg2409, Fire dispatch is Tg2411, Fire tac is Tg2413.

Ah crap! I can’t receive the Guilford system very well. It’s not so much a simulcast problem as a weak signal problem. The Cane Mtn. site is practically in my back yard,

Additionally, Graham Police and Fire are now dispatched by Burlington's 911 Communications center instead of Alamance CCOM.

Is there a reason why they switched? Seems kind of odd.

My understanding is that Graham had difficulty accessing the VIPER radio towers inside structures in the city limits of Graham, and the Guilford system has a tower in downtown Burlington that provides adequate signal into Graham. I can't speak to the reasons why Graham changed dispatch centers.
