I just heard a transmission from the GCSO(via Proscan Recorder) saying they were headed to Alamance Regional Medical Center. According to: Google Maps. That is 61mi.. Why would they drive, instead of fly?

Lots of reasons. It would be hard to say. Weather, availability, weight, not wanting to stick the patient with an excessive bill, patient request. No telling.
