gre-500 tip

hello i googled the correct size adaptor tip i need for the gre-500 it showed it was 4.75mm outer by 1.7mm inner. i want to listen to my scanner in car threw my
car charger. im looking online and having trouble finding this size tip. the closet i see was 4.8x1.75. i really want to find the exact size for proper fit. does any one know of a site where i mite find this size. just cant seem to find this. any help would be really appreciated. thank you hello forgot to mention this is for a 2 pin adaptor thanks again

The GRE-500 dc plug size is : O.D.: 4.75mm. I.D.: 1.7mm. This is/was a Radio Shack size C Adaptaplug. As you are experiencing, the sellers of dc adapters do not typically include the size of the connector in their ads. You are looking for an adapter compatible with the GRE PSR-500 / Whistler WS1040


From the GRE PSR-500 user guide:

You can power the scanner from a vehicleʼs 12V power source
(such as cigarette-lighter socket) using a 9VDC at least 500-mA
adaptor with 4.75mm outer/1.7mm inner plug. Its center tip must
be set to positive and its plug must fit the scannerʼs PWR DC 9V
jack. Using an adaptor that does not meet these specifications
could damage the scanner or the adaptor.
