I can't get my GRE 600 to come on! The panel lights blink when I turn on the switch, but it will not work. It was working fine last time it was on. I am just sick. That radio was almost my very life. Hiegtx, Steve if you see this, I've left my phone no. if you can call me. Thanks!

Harold, do you think it is just the adapter? I sure hope so! Thanks for that info! I went ahead and ordered the adapter. Hopefully I didn't wipe out the programming by turning the radio off and on too quickly. The software for it doesn't work anymore on this old worn out computer of mine, and if I wiped it out, I would never get it programmed again. Thanks so much again Harold! I do appreciate your help!

That adapter is it for certain. It's not even warm. It has always been warm to the touch when it was working. cold as kraut now. I just unplugged it to be safe, so nothing will burn out or catch fire.

.
Did you try putting batteries in the scanner to be sure the scanner itself still works? That would verify for sure that the plug-in adaptor is at fault.

Get a small test meter. A cheap one from a place like Harbor Freight is good enough to check low voltage output.

Right. This scanner is the desktop, not the handheld, for clarification. I do hope this adapter I ordered will work on the PSR 600 desktop, ac only!

This is it. I sure hope that adapter is the one for it, and it still isn't the radio. As I said, it was working just fine when I turned it off last night. Hasn't been acting weird or anything, performing just fine.

Output for the adapter that went out is 13.8VDC0.6A8.28W
Input: 120V AC 60HZ 0.25A I am afraid I misled Harold by failing to mention it is a desktop, plus providing adapter information.

The description for the item on Amazon's website states that is for your scanner model, the PSR-600.

I just wanted to say that the 600 is talking once more! I would like to thank Harold and Steve and everyone for your help. It was indeed, the adapter. It took 9 days to get it out of Deleware, but was well worth the wait! Again my sincere thanks to all!
