Anyone had problems with the GRE program ? When I load it onto the computer it says "Updating Scanlist"
It shows 100% done, but is stuck on the screen? It will not let me go on. I uninstalled the program and
re installed it, Still no good. I have to rebootcomputer just to make the "Update" screen go away?
Rebooted removed and put in again, still stuck on screen. I have waited for about to 30-40 mins for updates.
But it still reads 100% complete?? Any ideas?

I would be suspicious of your PC. It works flawlessly on my PC. Could be a video card issue or a memory chip issue. Since you don't say what operating system you are using I cannot offer any further assistance.

Using windows XP.
Updated anti virus yesterday and video card is almost new? Works on every think else but the GRE
program. Thanks for ideas! It still shows me "Updating Scanlist 100%" for going on 2 hours now and I can't
close the program? Will have to re-boot again.

I'm using XP at work with no issues, and Vista at home. Do you have the radio turned off when your updating? Are you able to see the microSD card device name such as a logical "E:" drive?

It will not let me install, it sticks on install of program.
I have to re-boot to even get the box off screen. I'm going to try another computer tomorrow
to see if it is the program or computer.

Access Violation

On my widows 7 and Vista machines I get an (Access Violation at address 0052DE55 in module 'EZScanDG.exe' Read of address 47FFFFC)

This renders the computers useless.

Software works on my Vista Ultimate machine OK.

This happens with supplied software and down loaded software.

I tried uninstalling it and reloading it to no avail.

Anyone have any ideas?

Thanks
Jay

Vista Pro 64 and GRE 800 v.1.01

Version 1.01 hangs up on my laptop. Went back to version 1.00 and all seems fine.

GRE Programing Problems,

I put computer program in today in my laptop with Windows XP. Same thing, it went in OK, then I closed it after making a few little changes. I had to close it to go away.
Then when I went to open program again, stuck on "Updating scanlist"
It has set on my laptop for 1 hour, I just rebooted and same thing..............
I called GRE explained my problem, they took my number and will have techie call me
back.
Anyone have any good ideas....I tend to think its the soft ware. I' m open for help till GRE calls me back.

Thanks!

Once support calls you back and you have a solution, let us know. Until a problem is truly identified, we can only guess.

The obvious would be, If you downloaded the program, you might try re-downloading it and re-installing. If it was installed from the CDROM maybe try re-installing from the disc again or try the downloaded version.

There must be certain files between Windows versions that are different enough to cause a problem.

Thanks for the hint Dan,
Just did it again on the desktop, still same thing?? "Updating Scanlist" box again.
Did same on laptop, same thing??
The only way to get the box off screen is to shut down computer (s) too.
Still no call from GRE yet.

Have you tried uninstalling the software using Windows Control Panel? Also, do you have a registry cleaning program? Since you also could not get the software to work on another PC I would guess the issue is you have bad software. I downloaded my software from GRE's site and it works just fine on XP.

This is the answer I got from GRE support. It fixed my problem on both computers.
They got back to me within a few hours too. Great service...........

===============================================================

If the program is running (at all) please close it. You may have to kill the process in the Windows task manager depending on what it's doing.

Once closed, navigate to your "My Documents" folder. Depending on the version of the App you are running, you should find either an "EZ Scan-SD Digital" or "EZ Scan Digital" folder. This is where the data being used by the app is located (you'll find a CDAT and DB folder, along with some data files there).

Rename the CDAT folder to something else and then try to start the program. If it starts correctly, it's possible that one of the files in the CDAT folder was corrupted and causing the issue.

Yep, it worked ! BUT the next time I opened the program it did the same thing as before. I checked and the "CDAT" file came back. The I have to start the whole program over again.
I did it again and same thing....it will not stay re-named? Any ideas? I'm sure there is simple fix to this
but my brain is locked up...

The CDAT directory is always going to "come back". That's the name of the directory used by the program for its configuration data set. GRE had you rename the directory to see if that version of the data had a problem. The next time you started the program, a new CDAT directory was created with "default" data.

What version of the program are you running (Help -> About...)? If it's not 1.01, you should update it (Updates -> Check for Software Update).
