GRE PSR 500 and Edacs Icalls

Are you guys and gals hearing Edacs Icalls ok?

I am not hearing them at all.

When a unit first keys down I see digits/letters for just a split second and never hear voice at all.

Not sure if firmware needs to address this or everyone else is fine with Icalls

What Audio Modulation Mode are they using for there I-CALLS? Analog FM, ProVoice Digital, OpenSky Digital, Aegis Digital, Digital, P25 Digital?

Analog FM
All unidens here icalls fine
I have added a wildcard talkgroup set to Private I think that is all that is needed correct?

not very many I-Calls on the Analog / Provoice combo EDACS system here in Lebanon Pa. However I have set the PSR-500 to latch and alert on any I-Calls that are detected by the scanner.

Someone else with a busier system might be able to help, before I get one here.

Lets be sure I have it right all we do is make a wildcard group right set it to PRIVATE thats it for icalls.

They work fine for an analog 800 system for me.

Just got my first EDACS 800 Analog I Call off the First Energy / Met-Ed Trunked system.


Works great, followed 2 seperate full conversations without a problem.

It does for MOT systems ... in hex... can't say for EDACS.

Has any one set a tgrp to private and specify a radio id to watch for. This would be good late at night I could just listen for a deputy chief. Then change to an other v folder if something is happening.

Radio doesn't work that way. It would only hear if that user was making a private call.

As mentioned in another post here on the Will Co ILL Edacs 800 6 channel wide trunk system i see the ICALL # but no audio....Has good audio on my 246 and 396...Its set to Wildcd PC also...On this same system a friend and I both had to adjust the Edacs-Unmute in F-GLOB to below "10", the default is "18" or we would miss the first word in each transmission.....
