GRE PSR-500 CPU firmware

I was reading a text file called PSR-500 _info.pdf and it stated the newest CPU firmware update is 1.6. Does anyone know where that version is available or how to tell what CPU version I have??

To see what firmware you have in your scanner...

From the owners manual page 94.....

Turn your scanner on and as soon as the "Welcome Screen" is showing, immediately press the 3 key.

The latest CPU Firmware for the PSR-500 is version 2.3. You will find it at the following link:

"The BOOT code [CPU] version can be determined by holding down the PROG/PGM button while turning
the scanner on. The first line of the LCD should display: uP Boot Ver:F1.x"

The boot code and the CPU firmware version are 2 different things. The CPU firmware version is viewed by holding down the 3 key while the welcome screen is displayed.

The boot code info is useful for determining which firmware loader you should use. The firmware version check is handy for making sure an update worked properly.
