Hi I was wondering if anyone can comment on the "Priority" feature and tell me how well it operates. I had a PRO 106 in the past and when Priority was active just on one Object it was Extremely Choppy. I currently own a PRO 96 and a PSR 300 and neither one of these scanners has any issues with being "choppy" when the priority feature is active. I am interested in buying a newer technology scanner but if audio is choppy on priority I will just keep what I have. Any input would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you

Pretty sure the 106 & 800 are the exact same scanner! I never use Priority because it interrupts what could be a very important part of a conversation

You are correct. I have the GRE PSR 500 and love it. I still get them mixed up, but now I can blame it on old age

GRE PSR 800 Priority Feature

I have the PSR-800 and I use the priority feature on the APCO P25 Digital 800MHz system in Michigan and it is awesome. I can be listening to one talk group and if one of the three talk groups goes active that I have set to priority it flips over very fast because it is getting the information from the control channel and that way it does not have to keep checking the channel it is automatic so you get no break up like you do with analog... Now having said that I have not used it on analog because almost everything I listen to is 800MHz digital so I can't comment on the analog side of things.

I use it almost 100% of the time with about 5 or 6 talkgroups in all of what I monitor. Like kb8rvp I am monitoring a P25 system and the audio is not chopped up as long as there is no activity on the priority talkgroups. I really love the fact that the audio is clear up until the point where a priority TG becomes active.
