But the GRE CPU cannot be controlled from the outside, from a PC. The firmware code for the GRE CPU most probably have code that says If FQ below 520 then use 280-520 filter. If FQ above 760 then use 760-1300 filter. It can't handle frequencies between 520-760 to control the bandpass filters. I expect the Optoelectronics OS435 to have similar code that doesn't cope with out of band frequencies that the hardware cannot support.

You don't need to expect anything,they can test it and find out exactly what the opto board does.
