I recently got a GRE-800. I programmed it using the software provided. This is a display question, What is causing me to see the TGID and then a number? I see North Dispatch then i.e. 5. Can anyone tell me what that 5 is?

Thanks for any help
Peace

Is this the system you are referring to Alabama First Responder Network Trunking System, Varies, Alabama - Scanner Frequencies

If so the #5 you see is the DEC. The psr800 can see DEC or HEX. The radio shows the TGID and Alpha Tag will flash back and fourth. In the software you can change that to show Alpha Tag only.

Thanks

Yeah I figured it out after looking at it. Going from a Pro-97 to the PSR-800 was a bit of a culture shock to me.

thanks for the reply. I will have more questions because I am not used to V-Scan folders at all.

Congratulations! You've acquired a great radio!

Ask away...we're all here to help! (but as been mentioned, don't skip the step of reading the manual!). You'll be a much happier user.

You don't need to memorize it - just be aware of what is in the manual so later when you have a question you'll think to youself "I saw that in the manual" and then go read up on it.

But feel free to ask for more help!

Merry Christmas

I second that!

I read the manual while waiting on shipping, and it helped me a lot!

Thanks to all of you.

I read the manual and also downloaded the software to mess with it before I got the scanner. I have it now and I love it. It is just a different way for me. I am learning though and have to get used to the SD card thing.
