Good morning folks.. I'm hoping I can get some help here, regarding my grecom 800 .. my set location isn't allowing me access to entering my zip,city,county, ECT.. when I first turn scanner on, set location isn't even on the screen options, I have to go to settings and push the default vals, then it will show set location, but as I mentioned doesn't allow me to use the zip code option.. I tried uploading a photo, was to large, here's my email address.. rickjbrown1957@gmail.com can send photos.. Thanks for any help .. 73

Did you check the box for LocationSelect in the Global settings menu?
That and a bandplan set to USA should get your zip code search menus back.
LocationSelect is not checked by default and would also be unchecked if you did a default vals reset.
On my 800, LocationSelect (Location Select) was the very last item under the Global Settings menu.

We're you previously able to access the zip. It may not be in the firmware or database, wherever it resides. I know that the firmware in Uniden scanners was missing some of the new zip codes. Try an adjacent zip code and see if it works.
This is what I get when I try to input city,it'll ask for state, when I click that, it shows this on screen.. I'm trying to upload photos, not working..I did do what you mentioned in global settings..to no avail.. I had one of these a few years back and never had this problem..
