My pro 197 is locking on 461.350 listed as Parker FD but is motorboating. Are they switching to digital? It is programmed Conv now and hearing this. Or is it just overload from another frequency.
I'm not sure about 461.350. But I know it is a DMR system running Color Code 9. That frequency is licensed to Greenville City Center Hotel downtown (WQXD204) but not for a repeater on that frequency. It may be Glenraven Woven Mills in Anderson County, which is licensed for a repeater on this frequency (WQSI525).
3 Greenville County FDs are using DMR channels for talk-around channels. I haven't verified which departments are which, but they are:
452.500 CC1 TG 6000 SLOT 1
461.725 CC1 TG 9000 SLOT 1
461.725 CC1 TG 4000 SLOT 2
These frequencies are licensed to Communication Service Center (WPNV775) on Paris Mtn. Additional frequencies on this license are also in use, with three of them part of a Cap+ system. There's little to no traffic on the Cap+ system. These three frequencies above are definitely "conventional" DMR channels.
There are also two private ambulance services operating on some of these UHF frequencies, also in Conventional Mode:
464.4375 CC1 TG 10 SLOT 1
464.7375 CC1 TG 20 SLOT 2
An additional talkgroup, 255, is also active on these frequencies, but I haven't nailed down which. It's infrequently active, mostly during the day, when I can't monitor. It may be a school security service, possibly BJU or GTC. BJU is also licensed for a DMR repeater on 464.525. Furman may be on 464.475 DMR but I haven't caught them from my location.
Greenville Sanitation is operating a UHF Cap+ system, WQRN866. 460.1125 and 460.2375 are voice channels, both CC1. 460.3625 is data transmissions only. TGs active are 10 and 11 plus some others.
Greenville Water (RenWa) still operates an analog LTR standard system on UHF.
There is lots of DMR in the upstate waiting to be discovered.
