Grissom ARB moves aircraft elsewhere.

Apparently Grissom's runways are being rebuilt. Grissom's KC-135's will be flying out of Fort Wayne International Airport, and Wright-Patterson AFB in Ohio until the runway work is completed this fall.

Back in the 1980s, Grissom's runways were being rebuilt and some of the aircraft were temporarily relocated to Indianapolis International. I remember walking into work one morning, under the take-off flight path, as one of those Boeing 707 variants took off under full military power with no noise abatement. Talk about loud!

The article says they're going to share space with the 122nd at KFWA, but if you look overhead, there isn't a lot of extra space at the 122nd.

I had read that and grissom's frequencies have been very busy recently according to my friend in Bunker Hill, they have had active duty training or something similar and it sure wont be the same for the next little while

Some if not all are back home at Grissom ARB. I've missed them and am glad they are back.

There was a Tanker that took off from there earlier today (INDY81) & and is over at Wright Pat doing touch-n-gos.
I drove by Grissom this last weekend and saw no signs of construction.
