GRN Digital poor reception ...

hey guys, i was just wondering if anyone else is getting poor reception monitoring of the GRN digital sytems in sydney...i live in sw of Sydney and occasionally recieve very poor reception...also even worse when mobile travelling around Sydney.
Im not sure if this is a scanner question or a GRN question but the scanner seems to not automatically detect stronger signals of the control channels, and stays on week control channnels until its ready to move on....is this normal is their something wrong with my scanner.

P.s ive used different types of antennas without improvement.

Im thinking it may be the scanner, that is the problem...im using a ubc396t with various mobile one portable antennas...i have tried a different settings with slightly better results but still getting average reception.

Ive notice that my scanner may have a flaw so to speak because it doesnt seem to use the strongest repeater like a conventional radio would. It seems to get stuck on some control channels for some time before it looks for the next....resulting in some poor preformance. i did read there was a fix for this in the american updates...but hmmmm

Maybe there is an internal break between the antenna connector and the printed circuit board in your scanner.

The BCD396T and the UBCD396T are different models, as far as the software is concerned, and you cannot upload software for the BCD396T to the UBCD396T, or vice versa.
