My wife and I are staying in the RV park at Gulf State Park right now. I have monitored the repeater on 159.360 (DPL 431) for the past week. There is a little bit of traffic, but the repeater doesn't sound very good. The FCC license shows 31818 Maintenance Drive, Gulf Shores AL. The license shows they are authorized for 80 watts. I wonder if the feed line needs to be replaced. We are about 2 miles from it.

What kind of activity have you heard? I used to regularly monitor the frequency but never heard anything but a Morse ID a few times a day, that was a few years ago. I'd thought they abandoned it and went cellular or something.

Good morning!

You have the correct frequency for Gulf State Park (159.360, DPL 431) but there really is not a ton of traffic. Law enforcement frequently takes their traffic through Gulf Shores PD but is encrypted. Another frequency you might try is 151.280 (DMR Color Code 15). Also, The Lodge at Gulf State Park operates the cabins, restaurants, and the lodge. Click on this and scroll to the bottom for the details. It is also a DMR system.

We lost water yesterday, so I turned up the volume a bit and a few minutes later heard that water service was restored.

The lodge is license WRCR799 which states that radios will be used in and around the hotel and convention center. Both frequencies are licensed for NFM and DMR. Sadave says they are using DMR.

I have both frequencies programmed but have never heard anything on 464.700. I have confirmed Color Code 15 on 462.0375 and 467.0375.
