Hello everyone, I'm a brand new technician licensee and trying to get in on the hobby, but broker than the Ten Commandments. My current setup in my truck is a UV-5X3 HT masquerading as a mobile rig. To replace the rubber duck that came with it, I got a Nagoya TB-320A that sits on a Nagoya RB-50 mag mount. SWR in all three bands is acceptable (but not awesome.) This seemed to work well for the first couple weeks, but now anything I receive on this antenna is broken and unintelligible. As soon as I put the rubber duck back on it, RX is clear as a bell again. Visual inspection of all components reveals nothing obvious. Are there any usual suspects that I might not be aware of, and what troubleshooting steps can I take to work this out?
