I think the original poster here got a few things mixed up.
The Talkgroup was 705, or 708 and the radio ID was 108 or 109, the Burlington Fire Dispatch radio ID.
I heard this yesterday, 711 Appleby Line, where they do their dispatching.
Oakville and Burlington fire have been on this new dispatch system for several months now and no longer dispatch over the air, not sure about Milton or Halton hills but the southern dept's get the automated dispatch in the hall, press the button in the hall or in the truck and go to the scene. What you heard was probably a test of the back up system just like Toronto EMS has, if they don't hit the button in time the computer will go on the radio and start voice dispatching until someone hits the button. 705 is a spare channel but for normal ops the computer should squawk on the normal dispatch channel OR via private call so you might want to have the private call ID in the radio but don't expect to hear many calls as fire usually goes quick and won't miss pressing the enroute button.
