I just saved $45 on an Austin Spectra antenna and all I bought on top was an NMO to BNC adapter and a mag mount base.

I am one happy bunny today.

Oh I forgot to mention that to NOT use the 800 MHz
antenna from RadioShack because it does not perform

Mine works quite well. Check your BNC Connector pin.

I have a whole bunch of different antennas that would maybe work for you. Drop me a PM and maybe you can try one or two out. I am in the Nashua area as you know. Maybe you can try my RS 800mhz and see if that works. Failing that, maybe I can take a look at your scanner and see if you have a setting not right.
