Handheld w/freq counter, APCO, trunking?

The Uniden BC246 comes close, but does not include digital (I'm in the Metro Boston MA area). Anyone know when a digital version of it will come out? Also, how long does it take from when Uniden puts out a new radio to when Radio Shack puts out its version? It would be interesting to compare price and performance between the Uniden and RS versions, when/if we see them.

Supposedly RS is making a Pro-97 which is supposed to be kind of like the 246.

The PRO-97 also does not do digital.

You will have to wait for the replacement for the BC296D, or maybe the replacement for the PRO-96. Not sure which will be out first.

I said the Pro-97 b/c he asked how long it takes RS to come out with the same scanner that Uniden put out.

The Pro-97 is not a version of anything Uniden makes. In the case of the BC92, the RS version (made by Uniden) came out before Uniden's.

The 97 should be kind of like the 246 if they want to compete at all with Uniden.
