I currently have a SDR Trunk that I monitor Harrisonburg/Rockingham system but I come across some talkgroups that are not in the databases. How does one figure out what kind of talkgroup it is? When school started here, I was picking up additional talkgroups but unsure where it is located but wanted to refresh the database. I am a complete noob btw.

I think you just need to keep listening to the content to figure it out. Also, talkgroup ids are often grouped together. For example, a system may have talkgroup ids in the format 30xx be the sheriff's department talkgroups, 31xx be fire and EMS, 40xx be schools, etc. That existing numbering scheme can give you a clue about new talkgroups.
