not sure if anyone is aware of this or not ....never seen any posts on this .....but the hartford police hotline which is a patch that starts with a 15 -xxx usually 15-071afs .....can easily be entered by entering 06-090....the actuall talkgroup on the trunk........same thing with EMS which is also a patch .....i believe is on a designated talk group of 04-083 a designated fire talkgroup. with uniden scanners youll notice it flash patch 15-xxx to 04-083 same with the police hotline patch ....the sound quality may suck on these uniden early digital scanners ...but they make up with it with these features .....private call.....(I-CALL) the emergency button on edacs system which the scanner detects when activated by an officer......and the patch feature that tells you the actuall talkgroup and flashes the patch as well....my own experience with these scanners is if you own them ....add an aplified external speaker from radio shack ...or i use a motorola speaker on the 785-D ....and it improves the sound quality very much ........not perfect .....but a definate improvement. i just wonder how uniden could release these units with poor sound quality other that being or wanting to be the first digital units on the market ....they should have taken there time in developing the digital side of it and they would've had a grand slam ......but ...oh well I have these two models now , aint buying anything else digital ......unless CSP changes thier baud . to 9600. ....then ill have too ....but satisfied with these scanners for now.
