Has anyone heard of a system called SNAKES?

Heard something at a local airport that "SNAKES" would be on. Unknown what this is. It is a commercial airport with both Army Guard and Air Guard units stationed.

I don't know of any type of operation or radio system with that name but there are a few fighter outfits, mostly ANG, with the callsign of SNAKE. They are F-16's. Not sure if this is what your talking about.

I'm just throwing a guess out there so I'm not sure if it's right or not, take it for what it's worth.

It could be the Sequencial Flashers on the approach lighting system (ALS) It's usually refered to as the "Rabbit" but who knows maybe this guy figured he would call it the Snake.
