Hi ya all,

Was wondering if anybody has any frequencies and PL Tones for the Healthnet Helicopters. I think there is one based in Hunington and one in Charleston.

They are doing alot of runs up in my area and I'm not sure if I have the right frequencies to hear them.

I have 155.325MHz and 155.355MHz both with a PL of 110.9 on my scanner but nothing heard.

Any infomation on them will be helpful

Thanks and good day

Healthnet 1 - 155.400 - pl 156.7

Check under the WV section of the Database and then click on the Statewide EMS for everything I listed a while back.

Hey DonnieDog,

Thanks for advising the freqs and PL Tones. :D I'll punch them in and give them a listen. They have been doing some runs up in my area. I hope I get a chance to see one of their choppers someday to get a couple of photos of them.

Have a great day

Cool guys 8)

Thanks for the great links to the websites :D

I would love to see one of Columbia's helicopters up close some day. They are one of my favorites.

They only heavy lift helicopter I seen before was a Erickson S-64 Aircrane. I got tons of photos of it and the crew was real nice. I even got to sit in the pilots seat :) They were working on the helicopter and needed some tools so I let them use some of mine. They gave me some hat pins and some other neat stuff in return.

As far as air ambulance helicopters go, Medflight of Ohio covers my area. I live a few blocks from their base here in Wellston. I go over there all the time to talk with the crew and get some photos

Earl,

The last couple of winters we have had a 107 logging in the Shawnee Forest. (I think it was the Shawnee) They were down around Portsmouth and/or Franklin Furnace. If we have one there next winter, and I can remember, I will shoot you a PM and let you know. Watching these things log is pretty impressive. We currently have 107s in Bluefield, WV, and French Lick, IN. We don't do much work back East, unless it is swamp logging down in the south (South Carolina and Louisianna mostly). Like I said, if we have anything in your area, and I can remember, I will let you know. I usually notice when we have something in Ohio, as I was born and raised in Canton.

Thanks colheli for the info :D

I'll hope I get a chance to catch one of your helos someday. Watching logging operations with a helicopter sounds real interesting. The Erickson Aircrane I was speaking about can do logging missions also. I'm sad I missed you guys down in Shawnee as its abot 35 miles from my location. Some one said they were doing some helicopter logging last winter in the Wayne National Forest near Ironton which is 30 miles East of Shawnee

If you get a heads up one when of your birds are in my area or just what to chat, send me a private message or you can email me at.....

Hope to hear from you soon.

Have a good one

HealthNet Frequencies

These frequencies are what the hospital or Medbase/MedCom uses to talk/tone out the chopper and crew for a scene flight while at the hospital. This transmission can only be heard for about a 5 mile radius around the hospital.

Healthnet 2 - 155.160 - pl 186.2
Healthnet 3 - 155.355 - pl 110.9
Healthnet 1 - 155.400 - pl 156.7
Med-Com 400 Huntington 155.400 - pl 110.9

I know this that when I was up at medbase in Charleston Medbase talks to HealthNet 2 on:

MedChannel 3: RX: 463.050 PL: 151.4

But you can only hear Medbase Side of the Conversation. I know there has to be a Link from UHF to their system because they use the UHF Call 9 And Med Channels 1 - 9 same as the ambulances use when they call into the hospital. This information is Kept private I beleive because It would be a violation of the Hippa Law to have this information available to the public by identifying someones medical problems to the entire area.

Also, when healthnet is doing a scene flight a ground contact person designates a frequency that they communicate to the chopper with.

I know in my location we use 461.825 No Pl/Open Monitor (This will vary for every department or county, or whomever will be ground contact.)

I hope this helps.

HealthNet + MedFlight

Here in our county we use both HealthNet amd MedFlight for scene runs....We use 155.295 (PL 162.2) to talk to the inbound helicopters (both services) for the ground crew/landing zone setup.

HealthNet Freqs....

HealthNet is setting up two frequencies to use for scene flights in areas they normally cover. Aeromed #1 is going to be 155.400 with a PL of 110.9 and Aeromed #2 is going to be 467.975 with a PL of 151.4. Just got that info from Clinton Burley, their Pre-Hospital Services Manager from Cabell-Huntington Hospital. Below is a photo of their former Huntington based helicopter. They were at our facility doing Landing Zone training for several of the fire departments in our county. They landed in our yard. Took several firemen for a tour of the county. Steve/KB8FAR...
