Jenks and Gleenpool both have tulsa radios in their dispatches. Jenks is going 800 but they are way way behind schedule, according to my contacts. Jenks is going to the edacs syste  I wish they would of learned from glenpool.

what?!?!?! EDACS is a GRRRRREAAAATTTTT system!

I've heard they HAVE to have the system in place by November or 1 year from the date of receiving the license. Hope it's true cause it will help our system.

That was me talking to jenks. Jenks, Bixby, and Glenpool, all have ICE radio's in their dispatch. When Ron in Jenks, and I at EMSA are working we use our 7E to talk to them quite a bit. EMSA always monitors 7E, but the outlying cities do not always, and alot of the times scan, so it's hit and miss for us to contact them. Usually when ron works, and we are responding to their city he will monitor 7E for traffic....I wish Sandsprings and Bixby would do that! *hint hint* :)

I'm lost, why do you want Bixby to monitor 7E for traffic?

Bixby, Jenks, and SandSprings often first responds to medical emergencies, which I'm sure you are already aware. For example just last week they had a "man down" in a vehicle in Jenks. Jenks PD/Fire were on scene quickly because there were no calls in Jenks running, however we were running a million in Tulsa, so their ambulance was coming from 10100 S. Memorial. Jenks PD got on scene and were able to cancel us quickly before the ambulance arrived. Jenks PD was also busy running law calls so it's much quicker for them to say it on the radio than call. Also, if it were a real medical emergency they can relay pertinent patient information to our crews, allowing our crews request them to perform certain procedures or to give them a heads up of what they are responding to. Did that explain it?

I don’t understand why Broken Arrow or Bixby doesn’t have a permanent patch with TPD main dispatch frequencies. It is my understanding that BA has a TPD monitor channel in their radios, but it doesn't work.

You would think that if its possible to patch sometimes a permanent solution could be put in place. I think there should be several permanent patched channels shared by all agencies both Motorola and EDACS that can be used in case of emergencies.

Hey, but what do I know?

I'M NOT TOO SURE ON THAT...I KNOW WE HAVE "4I" WHICH IS LABELED "BA SYS" BUT THE RADIO TECHS ADVISED ME THAT IT WAS ORIGINALLY FOR THE PATCH SYSTEM TO EDACS BUT HE SAID "ALL THE PARTS AREN'T IN PLACE" WHATEVER THAT MEANS. I AGREE A MUTUAL AID CHANNEL BETWEEN ALL OF THEM WOULD BE VERY HANDY THOUGH. NOT ONLY TPD BUT TFD AND EMSA.

38192 is a call channel. That means if OHP wants to talk to a TPD unit they go to that (RMA 2A) channel and request to speak to a specific officer. The dispatcher then assigns those two officers to RMA2B or whatever the next channel is available. I am pretty sure RMA2A is monitored by the TPD master controller. That works the same for any other agency on the same radio system. OHP dispatch calls TPD dispatch on 38192 because it’s easier and faster to pass along high priority traffic.

There is a BA Sys for Law Enforcement and a seperate BA Sys for fire. I bet your guys 4-I is the fire side. Either way, I agree they dont work.

Speaking from experience, Sand Springs is going to put EMSA's 7e in their main 6-series bank to talk to emsa...however we'd put more faith in monitoring it if we didnt have to call for emsa dispathc on it 3-4 times each time we needed you. Not very impressed with the monitoring of the channel.

I WAS TOLD WE ARE OK TO TX ON YOUR CHANNEL AND HAVE. I'M SORRY FOR YOUR DISAPPOINTMENT IN NOT BEING ANSWERED BUT ALL I CAN DO IS LEAD BY EXAMPLE. TRY IT OUT ON NIGHTS, I THINK YOU'LL BE USING IT MORE OFTEN, ATLEAST I HOPE SO! FEEL FREE TO POST OR E-MAIL ME FOR FURTHER!

It was my understanding that EMSA's 7E was not monitored by a dispatcher. I thought that the EMSA crews monitored it on the way to calls but that was it.

I think it depends on who the EMSA dispatcher is and if they are very busy.

Yeah you are right, habpatrol (love the handle by the way!), they are supposed to monitor it enroute to a call but 99.999% of the time I have to drop them down because they don't. You are also right that it depends on the controller. I monitor it at all times, others don't pay attention to it. We are required to have it on a consolette at a volume 6 or above, but that isn't very loud and the day crews don't pay much attention to it unfortunately. Where do you work habpatrol?
