I have heard my own plate get run, by an umarked car that was behind me. It was a bit funny, as I hadn't noticed the car, and the expressway was fairly busy.
A second-hand story: One of my buddies, who was a sargeant on our volunteer fire company, was hanging out at the fire station, and heard his address come across as a medical dispatch. I was there when he, later, told the chief that he remembered stopping on the ramp long enough to make sure the bay door was closing, but did not remember the rest of the trip to his house.
