Hi,

I just bought the new BC296D scanner and I need some help!! I want to program the CSP Troops for New Haven County, Fairfield County and Litchfield County in my scanner but dont know how?? :? Whats the correct information I have to put in? Can I put all the troops in one bank? I have banks setup like this,

Bank 1 New Haven County Police
Bank 2 New Haven County Fire/EMS
Bank 3 Fairfield County Police
Bank 4 Fairfield County Fire/EMS
Bank 5 Litchfield County Police
Bank 6 Litchfield County Fire/EMS
**I also still need to make a bank for public works and something else that I have not decided on yet. Now, where can I put CSP in?? Can I mix trunked with conventional? Any help would be greatly appreciated :D

yes you can mix both conv. and trunked in the same bank. but you can have only one trunked system in each bank. bill

the best way i have found to program csp is to put in all of the freqs into one bank and all of the talkgroups with that same bank. make sure you use the data channel for your area. all of the freq and talkgroup info is available on this site. it might be a good idea to use computer software!
hope this helps bill simpson

Or you can do what I did...just enter every control channel into one bank...as you travel through Connecticut, the control channels will change and you're in the system again.

that should work, but what about talkgroups? the only other problem that i can see is the radio will hear the strongest data channel-but that may noy be what you want. in the hartford area, there are two strong data channels- one in rocky hill and on in simsbury (talcott mountain). the talcott mountain site is much stronger because of its height. i of course cannot speak for the shore area. i say give it a try. the method of all of the channels has beem tested by someone who works for the state dot and he says it works just fine. hope this helps bill simpson

if you put all the data channels or all the frequencies in one bank you will only receive one system. It may or may not carry the talkgroups you want to hear. You would be better off putting one site near you in one bank and the rest in a second.

I would say that you are content with what you hear rather than you hear everyone. To pick up every talkgroup and ICall, you would need to monitor every zone. I need to listen to 2 Zones to hear the minimum talkgroups I want to. There are others that I would like to hear but the control channel it too scratchydue to Nextel interference (troop K)
