My husband crawled up into our attic today and found what we think to be a Ham Radio antenna. The man that lived here was notorious for it namely for non-fatallyelectrocuting himself. Anyway, my question is: How do I identify what I have? I see no markings on the large piece. Is it a kit? There are some images here: Flickr: Greenview Lane's Photostream

Can anyone help me?

Thanks in advance,

Monique

Yep, typical "Rabbit ear" style antennas used for over the air tv.

Make anyone feel old though? I will admit though that I have an adjustable rabbit ear mounted on my wall into my scanner, allowing me to adjust from 70 cm to 6m. Wouldn't transmit on it, but does make a decentish dipole.

I'm Notorious?

Gee, thanks for that vote of confidence! I've been a ham radio enthusiast for decades. I never had any idea that we could be regarded as "notorious."
Strange? Yes.
Geeky? Sure.
Helpful? Maybe.

But never "Notorious." Until now. :)
