Hey all,

If someone could help me please I would be forever grateful. I have a Pro-97 scanner and I think it's an awesome scanner, but I'm sure that I am using only half of its functionality. The part that confuses the hell out of me is trunking. I understand the basics of how trunking works, but when it comes to programming the scanner I'm lost. If someone has an "idiots" guide, or some tips, tricks I would really appreciate it. I like to think that I'm "advanced" when it comes to electronics, gadgets, PC's, but I'll admit I have met my match with this scanner. And one more thing, I do have the usb data cable for it. I know scancat? was an application you could use with this scanner, does anyone know of anything else that works with it? Thanks in advance!!

Win 97 created by Don Starr is a great program. It has a 30 day trial and it's the one I use.

Ok I have one more question if you guys wouldn't mind. I decided to just upgrade my RR.com account and let win97 do all the work for me. Now can I put trunked freqs and conventional freqs in the same bank? I seem to recall reading something that you cannot do it, but I just want to be 100% sure. For example I have bank 0 with the first 4 channels with a trunked system that I wanted. can I put conventional freqs in the rest of that bank now?

Yes you can, I have done that in most of my banks

Doug is correct, plus, you "could" put 2 trunked systems in the same bank.
There are a lot of issues with doing this and it is not recommended. Both systems would have to be the same type and not have conflicting TGs, just to name two minor issues.

Certainly you can put conventional frequencies anywhere you like. The bank would need to be set to the mode of the trunked system in that bank.
