I was on my way home from a Skywarn class in Fort Smith, AR and was listening when I accidentally nudged the power cord in the cigarette lighter with my knee enough to turn it off. No biggie, I just plugged it back in. After this, my scanner didn't turn on. I thought maybe I blew the fuse on the cord so I checked it and it was fine. So I plugged it back in and it curiously turned back on.

So I went back to scanning and noticed that I had not been hearing any transmissions for the past 30 minutes. Thinking this was a little odd, I got back into the Tulsa area and turned on some of my programmed police channels and still nothing. It scans absolutely nothing now. And I know there was an abundance of activity because I was listening to a live stream of the Tulsa area on my phone (they were searching for suspects who ran from them and swam across a river lol). It won't even pick up FM transmissions, something it never had a problem with in the past no matter where I was. Now I'm at home and it still will not pick up anything.

I've tried completely resetting the device with no changes. The stock antenna is fine and securely connected. Even when I tried with another antenna, there are no changes. I have noticed that when I use the stock antenna, I had to extend it all the way just to hear an extremely faint FM signal but when compared to my alarm clock radio, the faint signal wasn't the same radio station even though both were set to the same radio station.

Please does anyone have any suggestions? I want this expensive paperweight working again.

Had a 396t that did about the same. Was ready to toss it when I tried the headphone outlet, just for fun.

Now, with a power speaker in the hp outlet, the radio blasts through the whole house. Not a peep from the speaker in the radio, lol.
